For Social Prescribing Link Workers, Community Connectors, Local Council Wellbeing Teams, Health Boards and Public Health Officers the Feel Good Hub is a behaviour change tool to support your work at an individual, organisation and community level.
As a front line soldier in the war against poor health and health inequalities you will be all too aware that whilst the lifestyle medicine approach is well understood, the biggest barrier to adopting a healthier lifestyle is behaviour change.
Just signposting to content and information isn’t enough to stimulate behaviour change – we believe it's about creating an engaged community with a shared purpose that really supports people to take
action to create and maintain new positive habits.
Our focus is on supporting our members to start to take at least one wellbeing action a day. This is our 1-A-Day approach. These simple suggestions can simply and easily be actioned during the day, such as a lunchtime walk, taking a few minutes for a breathing exercise or reading a tip to improve our sleep.
Sheryl joined the Feel Good Hub and changed from doing little activity to early morning walks and then completing her first 10k run!
And now running is one of the ways Sheryl looks after her physical and her mental wellbeing.
